Cherry Nut Protein Shake
For the last 4-5 years I have been using a lower end high-powered blender. I loved it for the first few years but being a dietitian, meal planner and someone who luuuuvs her shakes, that blender has been through a lot of shakes. For the most part, that was the extent of it, just fruit smoothies and a variety of protein shakes.
Recently I had been offered a Blendtec in exchange for a few blog posts with recipe creations and girl was I excited! Do you have a Blendtec? I must say, that the packaging itself made me excited about it, even before I opened it to reveal the beautiful color I had chosen weeks previous to receiving it. But it took me a few days, yes a few days, to give it a whirl. Finally, after 3 days of seeing this beautiful machine on my countertop, I mustered up the courage to give it a try.
I tossed in some ingredients based on what I had not been happy about using in the past, due to the fact that the shake would come out lumpy and gritty. I was amazed! I was honestly afraid of the possible disappointment since I had researched this blender as well as another one, for several months. I had also been so unhappy and felt creatively trapped with my other blender that I just wasn’t sure if my expectations were over the top. Yeah, I know this is weird but when your work revolves around food creativity, it’s important to have the right kind of tools. My blend of ingredients created a flavorful cherry nut protein shake that I actually had to make twice – once for myself and then again for the kids, for their after-school snack. I hope you like this mix as much as I do!
