National No Diet Day!! May 6th!! :)
Are you tired of the word “diet”? Are you sick of the fad diets being sold to you everywhere? Do you want to just smack the next person who tries to “sell” you the latest and quickest way to lose a few pounds?!! Well, then today is YOUR day!!!
National No Diet Day is an international holiday created by Mary Evans Young, of Great Britain. It’s an amazing day to just accept us for who we are!
So how should you be a healthier you?? Grab the thoughts and ideas of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2010.
1. Balance Your Calories: enjoy your food but eat less! Share your entree or dessert, take a portion away before eating and take your time enjoying it!
2. Make Half Your Plate Veggies & Fruit: have a variety especially dark, green leafy veggies, orange and reds!!
3. Drink Water Instead of Sugary Drinks: big sources are energy drinks, sodas, and sports drinks! And on top of that, there are some studies suggesting that the consumption of colas reduces bone density.
So relax today…but adhere to these simple steps for everyday healthy living!! Cheers!
